This college admissions essay writing intensive cultivates bold, genuine self-expression for students who want their essence to be seen, heard and felt. From raw exploration of life material, we help you find and tell your singular, stand-out story.

To bring out the freshest words in the freshest way, we lead you through physical practices, drawn from yoga, conditioning and self-defense, that get your whole body involved. We work in community because it magnifies the energy and productivity.To learn more, check out our approach.

In an intimate group of rising seniors, limited to 10 participants, write your college essay while you learn to unlock vision, creativity and ease.

  • 20 focused hours of writing and editing with personalized feedback, including how to find, tell and be your own hero’s story.
  • Take-away tools for stress reduction, creative thinking, an open mind, and physical conditioning and release.
  • Sample daily schedule? Meditation and free-writing; yoga and mining raw experience; structured prompts and feedback; self-defense (with game-playing) and conditioning; writing personal stories and from intensive tools; sharing and closing meditation.
When?

Mon-Fri August 24th-28th.

Daily schedule:

Mon: 12PM-5PM

Tues-Fri: 10AM-12PM: open writing and editing hours, individual consultations (optional)

12:30-5:30-PM: intensive programming (required!)

Coming from out of town? Ask us about convenient hostels.

What do I need to bring?

A laptop computer.  Let us know immediately if this is impossible for you.  Please do not plan on writing on a phone, no matter how much you love doing so.

A notebook and pen (you love).  Sara digs on Moleskins and Uniballs. If you’re not particular, we will have paper and pen for you.

LUNCH. If you are coming to the open editing hours in the morning, you will need food to power you through the afternoon. There are lots of stores and restaurants in the area where you can pick up sustenance.  Sara brings hers homemade in a jar. We provide healthy snacks for participants.

Appropriate gym clothes and sneakers.  Comfortable, movement-friendly attire. Wear or bring—there is space to change.
